On the Thursday 6th February, 2014 Jill, David & Daisy, are going to attempt to undertake the Everest Challenge in just one day, by all skiing the vertical height of 8840m, (29,029ft). We are undertaking this challenge in Mittelberg, Kleinwalsertal, Austria. We are closing the Cattery down for 2 weeks, driving to Austria and have allotted several different days to do the Challenge in case the weather is bad.
It’s a challenge for any skier but Jill who has undergone 3 back operations only learned to ski 3 years back and Daisy is only 8 years old.
We will each attempt to ski the height of Mount Everest in one day, making this a huge family challenge!
Broadlands Cattery chose the 4cancer group as their chosen charity in 2012, after Jill raised several hundred pounds doing a similar challenge then.
The charity is very close to our hearts as in the last 5 years alone, we have known or lost 11 family, friends or customers to the illness, including Jill’s mother who passed away in 2008.
As I post this, only today we have been told of another friend who has been given 6 months to live with Liver Cancer. This is a heart-breaking illness, and anything we can do to make peoples’ lives more bearable is worth it.
Please support us; no amount is too small for this great cause. Donations can be made in any currency. Click the link above or the Logo at the top
